About On a Whim

From rehabbing uninhabitable houses and working with rescue dogs, to crafting with recycled supplies and repurposing household items, recycling is at the core of who I am. I find so much satisfaction in putting new energy back into a house, a pet, or a found object.

I have sold my wares at arts and craft shows over the years. I have had my work available at specialty boutiques around the country, from Cape May, NJ, to Scottsdale, AZ. Two local clothing designers, Marla Duran and Marianne Monteleone, have carried my work in their respective shops.

One of the lines I created, Desert Dog Designs, was featured in an online publication

I have written for specialty publications, such as The Craft Industry Alliance Journal and FACES magazine for teens, and I enjoy combining my love of creating goods with my desire to write.

On a larger scale, my husband and I love renovating old homes! Over 23 years of marriage, we have rehabbed 7 properties in northeastern Pennsylvania, ranging from half-twins in the city and cottages in the mountains, to a brick Craftsman in a small town and a 150-year-old farmhouse in the country.

Our 2020 challenge: a 2,000-square-foot brick ranch in Laurel, Mississippi--home of HGVT's Hometown!  #hometown #downtownlaurel #hgtv
