Our 2020 Challenge

Over the 22 years we've been married, my husband and I have renovated a variety of properties in northeastern Pennsylvania. We have actually lived in some of these homes, while others were project homes, a.k.a. "flips." From half-twins in the city and cottages in the mountains to a stately Craftsman in town and a 150-year-old farmhouse in the country, each and every property has turned into a real labor of love.
But, in 2020 we're taking on our biggest challenge yet (as if the year hasn't presented enough already): A 2,000-square-foot brick ranch located in Laurel, Mississippi! (Yes, we watch the show #hometown #downtownlaurel #hgtv)

This is the Garden Drive property after the overgrown landscaping has been removed and power-washing completed. The exterior of the house was a light yellow. The putty-colored paint (Portobello) outlining the garage is the new color we chose. The plan is a black roof and shutters, and the wooden front door will be stained a reddish hue.
I haven't even seen the home in person yet, lol. We chose everything (including flooring, a countertop, and light fixtures) on the phone--my husband in the Lowe's in Laurel and me at my computer at home in Pa.
